The Jaters win and I am so bored. This would be a lovely ending for two people like Jack and Kate if they were real people. A spitfire fugitive from the law with a heart of gold, a love lorn surgeon desperate for affection. They raise a friend's child as their own and live happily ever after reading Alice in Wonderland at bedtime and making sweet, sweet love while the kid dozes. But this is television and I want a television ending to this sad love affair. I want the entertaining couple. I want Kate and Sawyer.
And what's with waking your girlfriend up in the middle of the night to propose to her? Wow. That's about as romantic as tossing the ring to her on your way to work. Hey kid, marry me. I'll see ya for dinner.
Sawyer would have been more thoughtful. It's the one you never expect that gives the heart-wrenching performance.

Look how easily their domestic bliss fell apart. Sawyer was like a spectre over that relationship.
I think Sawyer continues to raise Aaron on the island now that Claire is MIA (or dead from the RPG attack in the barracks which is why Miles was so into her) and grows closer with Kate on the island before handing off the baby to her when she leaves and he chooses to stay.
Jack's insecurity about raising Aaron stems from that (which also puts Hurley's comment in a new jagged little pill context). Then for Kate to be keeping Sawyer's secret (his daughter?), leads Jack to propose out of desperation. For Jack, romance doesn't even factor into it.
It's also clear now that Jack is drinking and pill popping to keep his ghost dad in the waiting room. That means now that Flashforward Jack with beard in the airport parking lot is out of pills and still has a vision coming.
Claire might be dead, but in the past, the dead people Miles saw or heard were never actually shown, and we can all plainly see Claire. But we do know that Claire dies, so most likely Sawyer does end up thinking of Aaron as his own until Kate leaves and he hands off the baby.
Little Clementine is Sawyer's secret, eh? It's entirely possible. It could also be Cassidy, or the two of them.
I wonder if Kate will drug Jack and run off like she did with that cop she was with. Ah, Kate's drama just never ends, does it?
